Most of us want a good life. A life that means something and a life that is successful.
But how can we get there when we're still trying to understand life? Focusing on God every day helps us to get an understanding. We're all focusing on something, but we should be really careful where the understanding comes from. Is it from the world or is it from God?
Joshua 1:8 says, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."
So how can you focus on God, with all the distractions around you? You starve the distractions, and feed the focus:
Instead of reading text messages, read the bible.
Instead of rejecting what you read, absorb it - decide to believe it.
Instead of just agreeing with the Word, apply it to your heart and obey God.
There is a success every day in our life, good or bad. You can be successful at making someone smile, or successful at losing them as a friend. Our focus is powerful enough to lead us to the light or to darkness. Simple successes will lead us to bigger successes. We should want to be successful in the Truth about God and His love for us.
Try meditating each day on Joshua 1:9. You will see that God is with us and that His truth will set us free.
Focusing on God leads us to understanding. In our understanding of God, we gain hope, then faith, and eventually we can see the light. Stay focused!
